3G Connectivity as Fixed Line Backup
In many countries dependable telecommunications, power and internet access is taken for granted. In other countries, despite recent advances, long stretches of downtime are still the norm. A very large, Fortune 500, American healthcare company with a growing Mexican subsidiary contacted us about developing a backup system to ensure consistent Internet access. Much of their business is done online -- and frequent Internet outages were disturbing their ongoing operations.
To solve the problem, our CloudGate gateway with 3G connectivity was connected to a Cisco router and outfitted with a WiFi card then configured to serve as a backup. When the fixed line Internet connection goes down, CloudGate will automatically switch over to a 3G Internet connection.
The installation has already occurred in one region and is currently being implemented in others as well, connectivity backup ensured.
