(Euronext: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), the wireless technology company, today announced that KPN has released the Option GlobeTrotter EXPRESS 7.2 data card to its business customers in the Netherlands. Branded as the KPN “Mobiel Internet Kaart 720 or MIK 720”, the device is being offered free to all business customers who subscribe to the operator’s Internet Flat Fee or Flat Fee Comfort subscription plans.
The GlobeTrotter EXPRESS 7.2 provides KPN clients with Option’s proven performance and reliability in the ExpressCard/34 format. The card features a unique fold-out antenna and Advanced Receiver Technology that, together, improve signal reception in weak signal areas. The device offers backward compatibility with HSDPA connections at the operator’s current network data rate of 1.8 Mbps in the downlink. The device will also run at even higher speeds once KPN has upgraded its network to 3.6 Mbps later this year. Triple band HSDPA / UMTS and quad-band EDGE / GSM compatibility ensure true worldwide coverage for international business travelers.
