MINISTER RIK DAEMS IMPRESSED
BY OPTION’S CAPABILITIES IN GPRS AND 3G UMTS DEMONSTRATED
DURING HIS VISIT TO THE COMPANY’S HEADQUARTERS

LEUVEN, BELGIUM – May 5th 2003 – The Belgian
Minister of Telecommunications, Rik Daems visited today
the Leuven Headquarters of Option (Nasdaq Europe: OPIN),
the leading supplier in wireless data communications solutions.
After Option’s corporate presentation, the company
demonstrated to his Excellency Minister Daems how Option’s
high speed 3G UMTS technology transforms mobile data applications
for professional users. The demonstration was conducted
using Options 3G UMTS GlobeTrotter PC data card, which
is being developed in cooperation with Lucent Technologies.
Demonstrations included an example of fast and secure
mobile e-government applications as well as live video
streaming and Internet web browsing.

market delivering fast and secure mobile data solutions,
now in GPRS and shortly also in UMTS”, said the
