Cannes, France & Leuven, Belgium – Option (NasdaqEurope:
OPIN), the leading innovator in wireless communications

that its Tri-band GPRS PC Radio Card - “GlobeTrotter”
achieved on 15th February formal regulatory certification
for use on GPRS networks.
“We have been shipping sample quantities of Globetrotter
for operator accreditation and infrastructure testing
since December last year. “ commented Douglas Ros
Vice President Sales & Marketing at Option, “Having
formal certification enables us to start shipping commercial
GlobeTrotter product to our customer base. Production
ramp-up will commence in March with larger volume shipments
being available in April. Needless to say we are pleased
to be the first company to have a fully certified Tri-band
GPRS PC Card on the market today.”
Option’s GlobeTrotter PC Card brings high speed
GPRS Internet access to any Notebook or PDA Handheld that
is equipped with a Type II PC Card slot and uses the Microsoft
Windows operating system. Being Tri-band, EGSM900, DCS1800
and PCS1900, GlobeTrotter is compatible with all GPRS/GSM
networks and can be used anywhere in the world. Users
of GlobeTrotter are able to send and receive E-Mail, browse
the Internet, and even schedule appointments, whilst staying
synchronised over the GPRS network with their office or
home desktop computer. Unique in design GlobeTrotter is
the only PC Radio Card that combines an integrated Tri-band

to ever remove GlobeTrotter from its PC Card slot.
The Always Connected… Always On line…feature
of GPRS lends itself to real time remote connectivity
and is ideal for the synchronisation of mobile devices
with the corporate network and centralised databases.
Designed primarily for the business and corporate sectors
