7/09/2009
This article describes how to install the latest drivers on Snow Leopard
First locate the image file containing the driver installer. The image file is called
“Option HS Driver v3.26.0 for 10.4.dmg” or "Option 7.2 Driver v2.15.0 for 10.4.dmg”.
Double-click on the image file. The following screen will appear:
Double-click on the “Option HS Driver v3.26.0 for 10.4.pkg” installer package which will launch the installation program that will guide you through the driver installation.
The first screen of the installation program welcomes you and shows a list of
supported devices.
When you click continue on the first screen, the next will show you the license agreement. You can choose the language in which to view the license agreement.
Once you’ve read the license agreement, you can press continue and the installer will ask you to agree to the license agreement before you can continue the installation process. If you disagree, the installation program will quit without installing any drivers.
The next screen will allow you to change the default installation location, but this is not recommended. By default the drivers will be installed on the system volume and it is best not to change this.
After pressing the install button, you will be asked for the system Admin credentials.
Since the drivers are installed in protected system folders, you will have to have
Admin access.
After entering the Admin password, the actual installation will start. If all goes well, the installer will show an Install Succeeded screen.
Click the close button. Now, you can insert any of the supported data cards and start using them.
When installing the driver “Option 7.2 Driver v2.15.0 for 10.4.dmg” on Snow Leopard
64-bit the following error message appears during the installation. This message can be safely ignored as the drivers are actually installed and working correctly.
