GTM501 winner of GSMA’s Embedded Mobile Module competition

During the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress, held in November 2009 in Hong-Kong, Option was selected as the winner of the GSMA’s Embedded Mobile Module competition in the ‘Best Embedded Module in the High-Bandwidth Application’ category for the GTM501.This award validates the market leading technology that makes the GTM501 – only 2.3 mm thick – the ideal 3G solution for new generation Internet devices such as e-readers, small mobile computing devices and connected cameras.

Option wins prestigious Golden Bridge Award
In 2005 Option won the prestigious "Golden Bridge Award", awarded annually by the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce to the Belgian/Luxembourg company rated most highly for its achievements in exporting to the United Kingdom. Receiving the award, Jan Callewaert, CEO and founder of Option, commented: "We are honoured to win this Award and we thank our customers in the UK for making this happen. The Award underscores the tremendous growth we achieved in the UK in the past years. The UK is a key market for us and it still shows great growth opportunities for Option. We will relentlessly focus on our customers to give them the best possible wireless data solutions." 

 Company of the Year

Company of the Year 2005
In 2005 Option was chosen as the winner of the 11th Ernst & Young-organized "Onderneming van het Jaar" (Company of the Year) awards, beating five other finalists including Arinso, Artwork Systems, Cartamundi, Delta Light and JBC. To be eligible for "Onderneming van het Jaar" candidates must fulfil a number of basic criteria and quantitative specifications followed by a thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis and audit, carried out Ernst & Young experts. The final judging is carried out by a panel of leading businessmen and academics.

The chairman of the awards jury commented, "The jury was impressed by the vigor of the management and the rock-solid belief that they displayed in the further growth of the company. With unceasing dedication they have always continued working further on the development of the company, which has undergone spectacular growth. They have also always had an eye for profitable growth together with constant international expansion of their technological base. Option’s management applies the core elements of corporate governance and communicates realistically with its stakeholders. The company fulfilled almost all of the criteria the jury had set. And Option’s success has an inspiring effect."

Option wins prestigious Europe's 500 Award for "Most Innovative Use of IT"
In 2004 Option won the prestigious Europe’s 500 "Most Innovative Use of IT" award, endorsed by Microsoft. Presenting the Award at a ceremony in Paris, Laurent Delaporte, Vice President SMS&P of Microsoft EMEA commented, "We were impressed by Option’s solution for addressing some of the challenges faced by today’s travelling business person, such as the constant need to check/ synchronize voice mail and e-mail. Their GlobeTrotter Mobility Manager software simplifies mobile access to wireless networks and internet services, allowing conversion of notebooks or PDA’s into tri-band mobile phones, thereby increasing productivity while on the move. We congratulate Option and recognize their commitment to innovation."
  Option wins export award province of Flemish Brabant
In 2004 Option received the Export Lion Award (Leeuw van de Export) of the Province of Flemish Brabant. This award, an initiative created by Export Vlaanderen and presented annually by the Flemish Minister of Economy, Foreign Trade and E-government, recognizes Flemish companies that have demonstrated significant initiatives and outstanding results in export activities.

In conferring the award the committee of Export Vlaanderen cited Option's expanding share of revenue growth from export activities and the consequent overall increase in worldwide business for the Flemish telecom industry.

Export Vlaanderen, or the Flanders Export Promotion Agency, is the public organization responsible for the promotion of Flanders exports within the framework of the foreign economic policy of the Flemish government.


2003

Option wins "Innovation Prize 2003"
In 2003 Option was awarded "The Innovation Prize 2003", presented annually by the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain to recognize a Belgian company that has shown outstanding innovation in product promotion, niche marketing and overall market development in the UK. On presenting the award to Option, the Chamber of Commerce noted that, "Option’s driving role has contributed greatly to the acceptance of wireless data communication, one of the fastest growing segments of mobile communication in the UK".
