Option
was founded by Jan Callewaert in July 1986 with
a view to designing and
manufacturing small modems for use with portable
computers. This foresight of
establishing a technological niche in a then small
personal computer market has given Option the marketing
edge over its competitors that it has today.
From 1993, when Option joined the Personal Computer
Memory Card International Association (PCMCIA),
there have been several strategic achievements:
